Logitech Crayon on General Sale from 12th September

Logitech's Crayon, the slightly cheaper rival to the Apple Pencil, which has up until now only been available to educational establishments will soon be on general sale. As from 12th September 2018, the stylus will be available in Apple stores and should be on the Apple and Logitech websites sometime this month. The cost will be $69.99, only $20.00 less expensive than the Apple Pencil despite offering a reduced feature set.

New Book About Apple's Creative Process

A new book by Ken Kocienda titled Creative Selection: Inside Apple's Design Process During the Golden Age of Steve Jobs was released on today (6th September 2018). The book gives an inside view of Apple's creative process from someone who was there. Ken worked on the team that created some of Apple's user interfaces and top software. Apple's Purchase Of Shazam Given Green Light

Apple have been given the go ahead by the European Union to acquire the music discovery company Shazam. The purchase was announced in December 2017 but has been held up until now by an European Union antitrust investigation due to the popularity of Shazam and the amount of data they hold. European Union competition commissioner Margrethe Vestager stated that "acquisition by Apple would not reduce competition in the digital music streaming market".

iPhone 8 Logic Board Replacement Program

Apple have announced a very small number of iPhone 8's contain logic boards with a manufacturing defect. They state that affected devices may experience unexpected restarts, a frozen screen, or won't turn on. Affected devices were sold between September 2017 and March 2018 in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macau, New Zealand, and the U.S. Apple will repair eligible devices, free of charge.
